What’s more fun that a Mystery Photo Game? I guess it’s having two grandsons come spend a couple of nights at Grandma’s house. But being on grandma duty and playing all sorts of games from Jenga to Uno to hiking to the creek had kept me too busy to keep up with all the other things I needed to do. I know you out there who are grandmothers will understand. They do grow up so quickly that you have to take time off to enjoy their visits when you have the chance. These boys are twins although they don’t look that much alike and they have very different personalities. But they are boys and as my father-in-law used to tell my mother-in-law when they had four boys growing up in their house “Now, Mama, they’re boys.” That gave the reason for a lot of happenings, I think. So I remembered that a few times this weekend when the boys were just being boys. But they are really good kids.
They loved driving our Mule and liked it the most when they could go fast. Grandma held on and refused to let them zoom down the steeper inclines. But they are both sure now that they are wonderful drivers. Then we went down the creek where they jumped in the deeper pools. Of course. We all got wet because I slipped on a rock and fell in too. I definitely wasn’t planning to do that. But some of those rocks can be slippery around creeks. I stayed cool the rest of the time, but didn’t go back in the water even though the boys did say I should since I was already wet. But they had fun. I had fun, except for that tumble in the creek.
And then when I did finally get them back to their parents and find my way back to my computer, I couldn’t get things to work. Isn’t that always the way of it? It took me a while to get the picture loaded for the last mystery photo. You all had some great guesses. This one was almost as good as the pecan photo for mysterious qualities, but Lisa and Paula got it. Several of you said it looked like something on a rug and I agree. It does. I actually came across this moth resting during the day on a bush at the vet’s office when I had to take Marley to see about his sore foot a few weeks ago. I knew right away that I was going to save it for my Mystery Photo game.
And now the game is over and I’ve picked the two winners. Peggy Clayton and Judi Trimble. I haven’t gotten an e-mail sent to either of them yet, but I will in the morning after I round up some grab bag books to give them a choice. So watch your e-mail messages tomorrow, Peggy and Judi. And thank all of you for making this one of the best Mystery Photo Games I’ve had. I’ve loved all the guesses, even when you were right. I’ll think up something new to do soon for another fun game.
If you entered my newsletter contest, it’s over too, but I haven’t had time to figure out who won yet. How I work these games is I give each comment or message a number. Then when the game is over, I go to Random Number generator and put in the number range and it spits out a number that turns out to be the winner. This time the numbers were 44 and 3.
But even if you didn’t win, I hope you had fun. Now I’ve got to go get some sleep so I can get back to doing edits tomorrow on my next book that will be out next summer. I know the publishers are working on the cover so that will be fun to see soon.
Did you have fun playing the Mystery Photo Game?
Thanks for reading!
