Finally, Some Winners

The longer you hang in there, the greater the chance that something will happen in your favor. No matter how hard it seems, the longer you persist, the more likely your success. ~Jack Canfield

Everybody loves a winner. Isn’t that some sort of saying? Not even sure it’s true. Not unless that winner is somehow sharing his winnings. And what are we winning? There are so many ways to win.

I was certainly a “winner” last week on my trip to visit my publishers, the Baker Publishing Company, in Michigan. This is me talking to all those wonderful people who sat there on their break and listened to me. I didn’t even see them drinking coffee or tea or chomping on chips. They were listening to what I said about writing my books. They are the very people who take what I write and turn it into a book you can pick up and read. Not that they do that only for me. They do it for everybody Baker publishes – many of whom would be considered bigger “winners” than me.

But last Thursday I was the one having the pleasure of meeting the people behind the scenes. Some of them I knew from working on my books with them. Others I had never met. Those who edited. Those who designed covers. Those who planned publicity. Some other worked on legal issues and contracts. Other folks worked out in the warehouse to get the books sent out to stores and readers. And more workers.

Some of those great people shook my hand and said they read my books. Then they came out to the break room and laughed at all the right places while I was giving a ten minute talk. Okay, I really talked fifteen minutes. They had to stretch their break to  include a few extra minutes. Maybe that was another good thing. Nobody looked at their watch and then shook it to see if it was still working. 🙂 So it’s no wonder I felt like the winner for a day.

Then I come home and see a notice on Facebook that my new book, River to Redemption is on e-book sale at Amazon for $1.99. I poke around a little on Amazon and see These Healing Hills is also on e-book sale for $2.99 on Amazon. So if you e-book read and hurry, you might be able to grab those stories for your e-reader. The Blessed was still listed at 99 cents too. That may end tomorrow. Since I didn’t know about lower prices for These Healing Hills and River to Redemption, I have no idea how much longer any of these sales might last. The prices may go back up tomorrow. So if you want any of these at the special prices you better check right away, and always look at the price before you hit the buy button to make sure you know what you’re paying for anything you buy on line.

On to the real winners —

I did finally pick my three winners of their choice of one of my Shaker books. I’m getting ready to send them an e-mail. The winners were Margie Jones, Connie Saunders and Donna Blue. So ladies, check your e-mail in a little while.

Thanks to all the rest of you who took part in my giveaway fun by commenting on my posts and joining in the conversations about everything from bucket lists to sisters to staircases to Shaker sayings. You all make blogging so much fun.

Have you ever had a special day when you felt like a winner?

Thanks so much for reading.
